#10 [5 Day Safari]
Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

DAY 1. Depart early for Queen Elizabeth NP driving west of the capital, with a stop over at the equator for pictures. This journey takes you through the volcanic formations of the Western Rift Valley. In the evening take a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that joins Lakes Edward and George. This trip takes you possibly through the highest
concentration of hippos in Africa and many other animals may be seen drinking at the waters edge. This trip offers a good opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing. Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge/Mweya Ecological Institute.

DAY 2. Two game drives in the offing today. These will provide an opportunity to see lions, leopards, giant forest hogs, buffaloes, elephants, Deffasa water bucks, Uganda kob and topi plus many more in their natural habitat. The crater lakes area is another place of beauty in this park. Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge/Mweya Ecological Institute.

DAY 3. Drive to Bwindi through Kigezi and enjoy the scenery. Overnight: Buhoma Homestead/Buhoma Community Guesthouse.

DAY 4. Early morning entry to the gorilla sanctuary for gorilla tracking. The rain forest is spectacular. The landscape is steep and forested yet very dense. It is however criss-crossed by numerous animal trails hence allowing easy access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary according to the movements of the gorillas. Coming face to face with the Gorilla may take as little as half an hour to as much as 8-9 hours. The thrill of spending time to observe these shy animals is rare, moving, awesome and very exciting. To watch and photograph the gorillas as they interact is an unforgettable experience. Overnight: Buhoma Homestead/Buhoma Community Guesthouse.

DAY 5. Drive back to Kampala at leisure with lunch either in Mbarara or Masaka.
